i think you shud look at the othe LV bosses to, as i hear some people are having the same non warded damage taken from others skills of other bosses in LV.

Ummm We did LV, including Secher, on Sunday, he worked normally.

 

So 1.3 broke the encounter because....????? HOW is he doing more damage given the patch notes?

 

We had the same problem with every boss we did last night and we have been farming LV for a long time so we know what is normal for these encounters.

 

It is the Wards (go go new ward system...) OR you broke every boss in LV. 

 

James, witty quips are not a remedy for a wasted evening of gaming. I think your customers would appreciate a ETA on the fix and an explanation more than a one liner.

Whoa, ease up a bit. There are a lot of bugs that have cropped up. James was just letting us know they have realized that there is a problem. At least be civil about it, it's not like he personally broke it.

No it isn't personally James' fault, but a majority of these bugs were found on PTS and reported, even ackoweldged by mythic and are still in the game when moved to live servers. That sreams of a horrible development flow issue. As bugs from test are not prioritized over furture hcanges, they jsut go into queue to be worked in line.

That was a genreal statement, but I know of people doing the city dungeons on PTS, and having a similar issue there.

While not Lost Vale, and not as unsurmountable as the damage in Lost Vale, our group did the City instances last night trying to get pieces for a couple of member and we found several inconsistencies with many of the boss encounters, most notably the Reaper's Pit hitting for 1300+ per tick on fully warded DPS and Skiv Redwarp hitting for upwards of 4k on a fully warded tank with certain attacks.

 

What made these encounters worse is that there seemed to be some strange issues with pathing and possibly lag, because the mobs would look like they were in one place, but would be attacking another.  There were also periods where (according to time stamped combat logs) you would see 6-10 attacks happen in the same exact second (damn monsters are now exploiting the GCD:smileyhappy: ) basically insta fragging anyone who was hit with this.

On tuesday evening, we attempted Lost Vale - Left wing.

 

Made it past the lizard guy (took a couple of tries) by cross blocking the tanks.  Definitely MUCH more dificult encounter.

 

Made it past the guy with the pink musk blobs.  He didn't seem much different, but we used a different tactic than before. 

 

Horngulul was a deal-breaker though.  She(It?) seemed to do normal damage and then would one-shot our tanks (18000+ in damage) that had full sentinel ward (according to tome of knowledge) and 2-3 darkpromise wards.  This is an encounter that offered no real challenge to us pre 1.3.  Additionally, the yard trash was walking instead of flying around-- which made the pre-boss cleanup effort less enjoyable.

 

Hope you can identify the issue and fix it in a timely manner.  Pre 1.3, I mostly only logged in to do LV runs with the gang.

Several guild and alliance members in LV last night reported similar bugs with bosses in the right wing as well, not just the boss that has already been acknowledged. As mentioned above, all special attacks seem to be ignoring wards. 

 

This is a serious issue Mythic - please make fixing it a priority.

Folks,

 

We have identified the issue and are working to correct it. It's not isolated to a specific zone but the way in which specific boss monsters are configured.

 

It's a priority currently and we'll address it as soon as we can, thanks!

I often wonder if this issue has existed since release, because wards have acted strangely since the game has come out.  It's just in the past, removing and equipting armor has sometimes 'resolved' this issue.  Well that's no longer possible.

Words on the BO forum from Nano:

 

He tanked yesterady for Lv and notice the same thing, what he did was equip the whole set again (even he got the wards) and equip the armour he perfered.

 

The thoery from Nano is that the system recongize that u have acquried the ward (i.e got the loot) but u have to actually equip it in order to be warded

We ran the first 2 wings of LV last night with out any of these issues. We are doing the final wing tongiht so we'll see how it goes.

We've tried that on sechar, till one shotting cross guarding tanks with his swipe ability.

Nope.

 

We all took armor off and put it back on, no change in the 1 shot fest. We also clicked everything in TOK. It is simply broken.

 

So nice to have these types of bugs go through testing and wreck havoc on live servers, makes it a real fun game.

Just an update:

 

The fix for this is not in the Hot Fix notes tonight, nor in the client build for tomorrow morning. As I left the office about 15 minutes ago, the dev team was still there working on correcting this issue.

 

Thanks for your patience as we deal with this issue and we'll keep you all posted on when you can get back to hitting those dungeons.
