Hi everyone!

It's that time again! I'm putting together the questions for Grab Bag #24, which will be wildcard Grab Bag filled with anything and everything WAR. So, I need your help! If you have any questions relating to WAR that you'd like to see in the Grab Bag, please post them here. I'll be choosing the questions that will go in next week's Grab Bag (and possibly beyond if I get a surplus of questions) directly from your replies. I need all questions in by Thursday morning at 10:00 AM EDT.

1: What are the details on the underdog system? How does it exactly help the realm having their city hit 3 times in one day?

 

2:Are any changes being done to Zone Domination to finally allow ZD mechanic and VP mechanic to actually work together instead of in the oppisite direction?

 

3:Any changes in the works for duel wielding classes and their Offhand weapon dealing full damage and having full proc options? In DAOC offhand weapens did much less damage then the mainhand weapon, and really allowed balanced. When will we start to see the balance between Duelwielders? 

 

4:. What else is there to do when you city is sieged for 8 hours 2x a day? Can we keep Scenaros open during this time?

 

5: Will we ever see the current dungeons adjusted to allow more then 6 players in at a time, with an increased challenge curved?(meaning, allowing current dungeons like Lost Vale, to have 2-4 groups enter together and do the much harder content as a fun loving guild)

Ive noticed when i get a stat high enough the color changes what does this mean?

Is it a soft cap? i see my ele resistance color changed to is the color changed stats bad?

1. Can we have an update on adding RvR gear rewards to be on par with those available in PvE?  Curerntly the best weapons, jewelry and pocket items all require repeating the same PvE content many many times with nothing comparable in RvR.  In addition Warlord Gear is subpar for most classes.  It was stated in the past that this would be addressed .. has any progress been made?

Why were the drop rates for crests/medallions virtually eliminated for solo players, requiring you to group if you want to advance via RVR?

 

I also want to "ditto" Keggs' #5, that would be an awesomely cool feature.

Are there any plans to replace the buff from the Live Event that just ended to the numerous players have lost it?

 

 

Are there any plans to address the Low/Low population of Dark Crag and Phoenix Throne?

 

Since Land of the Dead is a relative ghost town on some servers are there any plans to open travel to both realms at the same time?

 

 What are we supposed to do when the Tier 4 campaign is shutdown for 6 hours at a time?

1. To support Akalukz point this Live Event Bug was report early into the Live Event, yet it received no response as to if this issue was being looked into, or how to regain this reward.  Mythic communication FAILED on this part.  Why should we look forward to Live Events when there is to be no response positive or negative?

 

2. When will a Live Event actually revolve a story line or lore instead of scenario and monster/player grinds?

 

3.  There seems to be no Dev activity on the weekends.  Given that major patches and Live Events are launched going into weekends, will Mythic change these to be launched at the beginning of weeks so that issues that may affect gameplay and enjoyment will be quickly dealt with?

 

4.  Battle standard trophies, Guild Trophies, Spoils of War, and other items are STILL NOT IN THE GAME a YEAR after launch, what is Mythic doing to address these issues?  Specifics please, no symantics or general statements like "They're coming".

I've noticed the names of some people on the opposing faction are color-coded (white, yellow, purple, etc). What do these colors indicate? As a RR 54 player,  I've seen level 40s and level 37s with purple names, so it's not just a renown rank indicator.

I've done some testing on PTS, I've been dueling alot and had almost 300 solo kills (I assume 90% of my opponents had rr80 PTS templates) and my total tokens count was 22 officers medallions, 7 conq and 2 invader crests. at the same time my bags were full of warlord/invader gear that dropped of of players and I actually had to destroy most of it just to make some room in my bags. 
I think this is a big issue, a big chunk of WAR population loves to go out solo in orvr lakes and have some fun. It takes a lot more skill to fight multiple enemies solo and should be more rewarding, at least give us a shot at royal and warlord crests. Right now chance to get royal/warlord crest for solo players is pretty much 0.

Are there any plans cooking to institute an advanced need on use system for Mythic-level crests so that only those who can drop the crests can roll need on them? I for one am tired of seeing RR 33s running around with Royals gathering dust in their backpacks while I have yet to win a single one. Currently high RR players tend to benefit the enemy more than themselves by going into combat.

This is all one big question, bear with me ;p. 

 

 

 

As is common to the MMO industry (at least on forums), everyone seems to think that there is some "magical change" that will make things "better".  When, by the nature of MMOs, thigns must progress, lest people simply get bored and leave; sometimes, changes aren't designed to "fix" something, so much as they are to prepare for the next "big thing".

 

You had mentioned eariler that you had plans for redesigned forts, but that you weren't yet ready to say anything about them.

 

And recently, you removed forts, allowing for near constant seiges of cities... but with Stage2 of said cities still quite difficult to obtain if the other side puts up any actual resistance.

 

And the stated reason was that, city sieges weren't happening "often enough".

 

Is there another reason why cities have been "opened up" as they were?  Are you, perhaps, trying to get a large chunk of your playerbase plenty of opportunities for Invader gear in preparation for some new release that will require superior wards?


 

MSODAHWOP - Massively Singleplayer Online Diablo2 with an Auction House where you occasionally Wave to Other People. WoW is not the "world's most successful MMORPG", WoW is a "very successful game that calls itself an MMORPG". Once true MMORPG developers realize this, they will make games that can keep 500K people happy concurrently, rather than trying to reach for the 10million stars and crashing like an outtake of Asteroid.

1.  What is happening to the special scenarios that have made an appearance during past live events (Reikland factory, Twisting Tower)?  Are there any plans to include them in a regular rotation?

 

2.  Many months ago, I remember Jess (I think) mentioning something about Mythic looking at cross server scenarios, including something along the lines of "it's not just a matter of hooking up some cords and flipping a switch".  Is this still being looked at or has it been determined that it's not a viable option? 

 

3.  Recently, you implemented some "special quests" that are worth 63k xp that are obtained upon reaching T3, with the stated goal of assisting players' ability to expedite leveling.  Are there any plans to include anything like that to help with leveling through the 30's?

 

4.  Where in the process is the idea/suggestion of making War Lions have some sort of innate speed buff?

 

5.  Are there any plans to allow scenarios during city siege for T4?

 

6.  Can you give us a preview of the underdog system?

 

7.  What is the ETA on fixing the Renown Bonus bug at the end of scenarios? 

 

8.  What is the Art Team currently working on?

 

9.  What happened to Chris Bryant?

 

10.  In the distant past, city sieges were plagued by lag due to high populations participating.  However, there have been huge performance increases in terms of server and client side issues.  Is it time to eliminate, or increase the size of the instances?  Would that be a good way to solve the "instance hopping, or standing around waiting for 1000 point tick"?

 

11.  What is the current situation in terms of developer opinion on whether odjira and other movement speed buffs/talis are OP or not?  Is this being looked at?

 

12.  What is the status of WAR marketing?  Is there no longer any funds being funneled into marketing this game?

 

13.  Can you comment on subscriber rates?  Are we decreasing, static, or increasing the number of subs?

 

14.  The only essential diference between core and orvr servers is the blurring of the tiers and allowing players to rvr in pve areas.  Given that this game was created to be a RVR centric experience why not merge the rulesets, and allow rvr everywhere, but do not allow higher tier players into the lower tiers?  Would this not solve the problem of being stuck with a low-pop orvr server? 

 

15.  Leveling as a grind is a traditional institution in all MMO's and RPG's, but it's one in which the North American Player base complain about constantly.  Are there any plans to place a innate xp/rr buff to speed the leveling up?

 

16.   WL's as a class have one of the most AP intensive cost:ability ratios in the game, due to the need to balance the "free" dps that the war lion provides.  Shouldn't then, the Loner tactic, in addition to increasing damage, also reduce the AP cost of the class' abilities?  (Assuming of course, that the 25% damage increase, does NOT actually, make up for the lost dps/utility that the lion provides).  

 

17.  Can you clarify what exactly a two-handed weapon does?  Is there actually a reduction in block/parry?  What is the intended balance between two-handed weapons and dual wielding?

Loner really, really sucks. The War Lion comprises around 40% our DPS and three of our best utility abilities (fetch, knockdown, and silence). In addition to the damage, playing sans war lion costs us an armor debuff, snare, taunt, and autoattack speed debuff. You also lose out on Pack Synergy, one of the most important tactics for burst damage the WL has, and there aren't many. Coordinated strike also gets hideously gimped in Loner. It is SO not worth it, even though many WL swear by it, and it is an easier way to play. I have not bought it because I view the tactic as antithetical to the nature of the class and it's a waste of 33 silver, and I refuse to buy it until I'm RR 80.

That said, it is reliable. You don't have to worry about the War Lion's terribad pathing and AI, and you will always be responsible for  whatever dps/cc you dish out.

Which brings me to some more questions.

1. What plans do you have in store for improving pet pathing?

2. What progress is being made in granting the War Lion an innate runspeed buff? Are you aware that this is an easy solution for many pet responsiveness issues and pathing problems?

3. Given that last patch was a MDPS centric patch and the WL was ignored, do the devs have any plans for giving this class a focus similar to the marauders?

4. Are there any plans in store for giving the WL a more reliable form of CC? Currently, when we click on the ability, it has a random chance of going off sometime in the next 20 seconds. Given the extremely short duration of our CC, this makes it literally impossible for us to time our burst damage, and it is killing us. Last patch made it even worse. 

 

5. Will this patch really give us /walk and /sit? The RP server has been looking forward to this and asking for this for a very long time.

1.  Ask James Casey to finally tell us how many Tome unlocks are possible like he said he'd try to do in my interview for a Grab Bag.  :smileywink:

 

2. After Daemon Moon Rising, I have a serious lack of bag space.  I feel like I'm being punished for participating in content and receiving items that do nothing but take up space in my bag/bank/guild vault.  Any chance we can see a Live Event bag that's expandable in the future so we can take part in these without being punished?

I would like to expand on #2 here and say that I am on very low bag space again with not only live event items, but marketing rewards (which are cool btw), unique trophies (the kind you cant just buy), and armor sets (I have about 3-4 sets that I use/hold for future use) are really cramping my bank. I would also like to know about a live event/marketing reward set of bags, or even a new bank tab to help alleviate the item juggling.

Will we ever see Guild vs. Guild PvP ladders?

 

Will we ever see 6 vs. 6 PvP ladders?

 

Will the Dueling System ever be implemented?

 

Will the Warlord/Sovereign Set Attributes ever be re-looked at for some classes?

 

Will TotVL ever be broken up into wings like Lost Vale or Bastion Stair to encourage more participation since currently there are often player time constraints with the single track and only 3 day lock out?

Currently people level to R25 as fast as they can so they can power level in LotD to R40, is there anything that is being done to help encourage more T1-T3 Scenarios and oRvR?

 

Currently on many servers Altdorf is rank 1 which blocks off the triple rested XP room, have you considered allowing the guild hall to stay open to encourage more defender leveling progress instead of punishing them?

 

Currently when cities are in captured state there is no RvR going on since many invaders are doing instances for Warlord gear, is there any new mechanic to encourage people who don't need Invader gear to stick around for the 6 hours instead of logging off?

A year of WAR time has passed.  How is the realtionship with Games Workshop?  Are they pleased with the game and how it fits into the IP?

 

Expansions.  While I am sure it has been discussed is there an idea for a timeline?  While not looking for a date or quarter, are there ongoing meaningful or formal dicussions on this at this point? I understand if the answer is unable to be shared.  We can set a code.  If yes, please respond with Red Wunz Go Fastur!  If no, May Sigmar Guide Us.

 

 Cities.  Are there still thoughts of adding the other cities to the game?  They could be used as a replacement capital city during a siege allowing access to a guildhall and the like.

Anything being done to balance Pre-Mades vs. PUGs in scenarios?

 

Does it not make sense for oRvR VP to only relate to oRvR performance? In other words, why not remove Prior Tier, PvE, and Scenarios from the VP.

 

Currently there are major problems trying to get multiple warbands into the same city instances, are there any plans to allow multiple warbands coordinate better to defend or raid city instances?

 

Low level and poorly geared toons are not able to compete effectively in PvP/RvR given the amount of veterans still playing, are there any plans to aid them to better their WAR experience?

 

Despite many claims the player population of guilds does affect Guild XP which inspired many "Alt Guilds." Are there any plans on the agenda to give Guilds more tools to manage their roster better to account for semi-active players or alts with zero affect on Guild XP progression?

 

Due to event items, reward items, and class mechanics which causes some classes to hold multiple gear sets are there any plans to double the size of our Storage?

1. When are the new armor redesigns going to be finished?

 

2. Since /walk and /sit is being implemented next patch, will we see some more new emotes as well? such as /dance? if so, will the animation loop/cycle? also it would be awesome if /special loop/cycle as well, so players have something to do while afk or hanging out in the city.

 

3. New weather effects such as rain and heat shimmer will be added to the engine, will we see other weather effects as well? i.e Hail, Heavy Fog, Snow, Heavy Wind, Real Time Weather etc.?

1. Many players have obtained full Warlord armor, and many players are concerned about the broken set bonuses and stats, will this be looked into soon?
